Are you preparing yourself for missionary service?

First and foremost, this post is short and sweet. This post should take up to three minutes to five minutes to read. I would like to ask you a few questions, you can ask yourself and answer the questions either now or in your own time.

Are you preparing to serve as a missionary for full-time mission? Are you preparing to serve as a missionary for young church service mission? Do you see yourself serving a mission one day?
<--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->
This post is shortly based on a April 1985 General Conference and the talk is called, "Prepare Yourselves for Missionary Service" by Ezra Taft Benson. I would like to share with you the part that I liked what he mentioned and I hope you will learn something new.

"Let me suggest four ways that you young women can prepare now for your missions"

First, prepare yourselves physically.

A eighteen mission today requires good physical health. It requires that you keep your body clean. In your early teenage years, when temptations come to you to take things into your body which are unsuitable, have the courage to resist. Live the Word of Wisdom - no smoking, no drinking of any alcoholic beverages, and no drugs. Keep your body pure.

Stay morally clean.

This means that you keep a clean mind. Your thoughts will determine your actions, and so they must be controlled. It’s difficult to control those thoughts if you submit yourself to temptation. So you will have to carefully select your reading material, the movies you see, and the other forms of entertainment in order to have good thoughts rather than unwholesome desires.

Second, prepare yourselves mentally.

A mission requires a great deal of mental preparation. You must memorize missionary discussions, memorise scriptures, and ofttimes learn a new language. The discipline to do this is learned in your early years.

Establish now the daily practice of reading the scriptures ten to fifteen minutes each day. If you do so, by the time you reach the mission field, you will have read all four of the standard works. I urge you to read particularly the Book of Mormon so that you can testify of its truthfulness as the Lord has directed.

Third, prepare yourselves socially.

A mission requires that you get along with others. You must get along with your companion, who is with you twenty-four hours a day. You must learn to meet people and be gracious and practice good manners. One of the greatest assets that a person has in life is the ability to make friends. When you make a friend of a person, you can teach him the gospel.

Fourth, prepare yourselves spiritually.

A spiritual person obeys all the Lord’s commandments. He prays to our Heavenly Father, and he gives service to others.

Yes, young women, prepare now. Prepare yourselves physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually. Always be obedient to authority. Start a savings account for your mission if you haven’t done so already. Pay your tithing, and seek a testimony of the gospel through study and prayer."

If you are preparing for your mission, I definitely would recommend you to read the whole talk either now or in your own time. The link is below.

What type of challenges do you face in life?

First and foremost, this post is short and sweet. This post should take up to five minutes to read. I would like encourage you to think about, ask yourself and answer the following questions either now or in your own time. The questions is;

Do you face challenges as you are or as you were preparing for becoming a Temple Ordiance Worker? Do you face challenges as you are or as you were preparing for a full-time mission?
Do you face challenges as you are or as you were preparing for getting married?

What type of challenges do you face in life?
"Challenges are what make life interesting.
Overcoming them is what makes them meaningful."
You may ask me the following question, what kind of challenges do you face as you were preparing for becoming a Temple Ordinance Worker?

I didn't faced too many challenges as I was preparing for becoming a Temple Ordinance Worker. You may experience challenges as you are preparing for becoming a Temple Ordiance Worker. It may take some time to obtain a current Temple Recommend, it may take some time to work out if becoming a Temple Ordiance Worker is the right decision for you to do and so forth.

You may ask me the following question, what kind of challenges do you face as you were preparing for a full-time mission?

I faced some challenges as I was preparing for a full-time mission but I would like to put in perspective that there are going to be times when ... because each individual who prepares for a full-time mission may experience different challenges than I did.

There are going to be times when you may feel Satan's temptations to stop you from preparing for a full-time mission. There are going to be times when you may get distracted and focused on other things that may seem more important than focusing to finish filling out your mission papers.

There are going to be times when you may feel giving up and stop preparing for your full-time mission. There are going to be times when you may forget the reasons why you are serving a full-time mission. There are going to be times when you may feel that your testimony is getting weak. There are going to be times when you may feel your knowledge of the gospel is lacking.

Should I Love God?

First and foremost, this post is short and sweet. This post should take up to three minutes to five minutes to read.

Have you ever ask yourself a few questions that relates to should I love God and why should I love God?

He has done so much for you and I hope one day if you haven't already, acknowledge some things that he has done for you. It can be simple as watching over your family and always ensure that they will be safe and protected whenever they are away from home.

You don't need to have a strong faith to believe in God, you are his son or daughter who he cares about. God may not prove it to you often but you need to do your part to trust in him.

He always cares about you, he loves you, he trusts you, he knows your past, he knows what the future holds for you, he is always mindful of your needs, he won't ever leave you alone, he is always feeling joy whenever you are feeling joy, he is always feeling happy whenever you are feeling happy, and so forth.
<--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->
I would like to share with you part of Dieter F. Utchdorf's talk "The Love of God" when he said about why should we love God.

"Why Should We Love God?
God the Eternal Father did not give that first great commandment because He needs us to love Him. His power and glory are not diminished should we disregard, deny, or even defile His name. His influence and dominion extend through time and space independent of our acceptance, approval, or admiration.

No, God does not need us to love Him. But oh, how we need to love God! For what we love determines what we seek. What we seek determines what we think and do. What we think and do determines who we are and who we will become.
"Though we are incomplete. God loves us completely. Though we are
imperfect, he loves us perfectly though we may feel lost and without
compass God's love encompasses us completely."
- President Dieter F.
Utchdorf.
We are created in the image of our heavenly parents; we are God’s spirit children. Therefore, we have a vast capacity for love it is part of our spiritual heritage. What and how we love not only defines us as individuals; it also defines us as a church. Love is the defining characteristic of a disciple of Christ.

Since the beginning of time, love has been the source of both the highest bliss and the heaviest burdens. At the heart of misery from the days of Adam until today, you will find the love of wrong things. And at the heart of joy, you will find the love of good things."

How to Bear Up Someone's Burdens with Ease?

First and foremost, this post is short and sweet.

Have you ever tried doing ways to help someone's burdens to feel ease?
Have you ever thought about how you can bear your burdens with ease?

Have you ever thought about praying for guidance and asking Heavenly Father to help you press forward as each day goes by?

Well, this post may help to answer your questions. This post is based on a April 2014 General Conference talk and it is called, "Bear Up Their Burdens with Ease" by David A. Bednar.
"We are not and never need be alone. We can press forward in our
daily lives with heavenly help." - David A. Bednar.
I would like to share with you some paragraphs what I liked as I was reading the talk and I hope you will learn something new.

The Strengthening Power of the Atonement.

Consider the Lord’s uniquely individual invitation to “take my yoke upon you.” Making and keeping sacred covenants yokes us to and with the Lord Jesus Christ. In essence, the Savior is beckoning us to rely upon and pull together with Him, even though our best efforts are not equal to and cannot be compared with His. As we trust in and pull our load with Him during the journey of mortality, truly His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

Not only does the Atonement of Jesus Christ overcome the effects of the Fall of Adam and make possible the remission of our individual sins and transgressions, but His Atonement also enables us to do good and become better in ways that stretch far beyond our mortal capacities. Most of us know that when we do things wrong and need help to overcome the effects of sin in our lives, the Savior has made it possible for us to become clean through His redeeming power.

But do we also understand that the Atonement is for faithful men and women who are obedient, worthy, and conscientious and who are striving to become better and serve more faithfully? I wonder if we fail to fully acknowledge this strengthening aspect of the Atonement in our lives and mistakenly believe we must carry our load all alone through sheer grit, willpower, and discipline and with our obviously limited capacities.

It is one thing to know that Jesus Christ came to the earth to die for us. But we also need to appreciate that the Lord desires, through His Atonement and by the power of the Holy Ghost, to enliven us not only to guide but also to strengthen and heal us."

Forget Me Not

First and foremost, this post is short and sweet. This post is based on a talk called "Forget Me Not" by Dieter F. Uchtdorf, General Relief Society Meeting of October 2011 General Conference. He explains a lot through the talk that it's the worth of reading the talk. I would like share with you a few paragraphs that I liked while I was reading the talk and I hope you will learn something new while you are reading this post.
"Forget not to be patient with yourself. Forget not the difference between good and foolish sacrifices. Forget not to be happy now. Forget not the 'why' of the Gospel. Forget not that the Lord loves you."
"A while ago I was walking through a beautiful garden with my wife and daughter. I marveled at the glory and beauty of God’s creation. And then I noticed, among all the glorious blooms, the tiniest flower. I knew the name of this flower because since I was a child I have had a tender connection to it. The flower is called forget-me-not.

I’m not exactly sure why this tiny flower has meant so much to me over the years. It does not attract immediate attention; it is easy to overlook among larger and more vibrant flowers; yet it is just as beautiful, with its rich colour that mirrors that of the bluest skies perhaps this is one reason why I like it so much.

And there is the haunting plea of its name. There is a German legend that just as God had finished naming all the plants, one was left unnamed. A tiny voice spoke out, “Forget me not, O Lord!” And God replied that this would be its name."

I loved when he mentioned, "Forget not to be patient with yourself. Forget not the difference between good and foolish sacrifices. Forget not to be happy now. Forget not the 'why' of the Gospel. Forget not that the Lord loves you."

I feel that we all must be patient with ourselves. We need to be happy now and we need to remember that the Lord loves us, each one of us.

I hope you have enjoyed reading of what I have shared with you. In your own time, you can read the talk. Here's the link. www.lds.org/general-conference/2011/10/forget-me-not

Are your goals are righteous?

First and foremost, this post is short and sweet. This post should take up to five minutes to read. Sometimes whenever we are progressing to achieve our short-term goals, it can take a very slow pace and sometimes whenever we are progressing to achieve our short-term goals, it can take a very fast pace.

Sometimes whenever we are progressing to achieve our long-term goals, it can take a very slow pace and sometimes whenever we are progressing to achieve our long-term goals, it can take a very face pace.

Goals should be able to achieve in a time frame that suits you best. Some goals should allow you to become a better person than you were five years ago or even ten years ago. Some goals should allow you to use your time wisely.

Some goals should allow you to be productive of doing things that matters most to you. A few goals should allow you to become a closer relationship to your relatives and your friends. I strongly encourage you to follow up and reflect on the goals that you have written for this year to achieve throughout this year.
"If your goals are righteous, then go for them." - M. Russell Ballard.
You may ask, what are some easy and simple tips on how to follow up and reflect on the goals that I have made at the beginning of this year throughout this year?

I would suggest by end of each month, you need to think about, and write down in a notebook about what goals that you have achieved throughout the month and if you haven't achieved the certain goals that you would like to by end of that month, you can always encourage yourself to do better for the following month and try again to achieve those goals. I encourage you to think about strategies how to achieve those certain goals and you would need to write it down in a notebook so you can always look back on it.

Are your goals are achievable? Are your goals are righteous?

Change Starts with You

First and foremost, I watched a movie called "Zootopia" about two years ago and I enjoyed watching the movie. This post is short and sweet. If you haven't heard the movie before, I would suggest you to watch the trailer so you will know what it is about. If you haven't seen the movie before, I would like to suggest you to watch it in your own time. Below is the video clip to the movie trailer.
If you weren't able to see the trailer, here's the link below.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWM0ct-OLsM

I have some favourite quotes from the movie and I would like to share with you one of the quotes.
The quote says, "Real life is messy. We all have limitations. We all make mistakes. Which means, hey, glass half full, we all have a lot in common. And the more we try to understand one another, the more exceptional each of us will be. But we have to try. So no matter what kind of person you are, I implore you: Try. Try to make the world a better place. Look inside yourself and recognize that change starts with you."

What do you think about the quote? Do you think it relates to each of us this day or this evening?

Return and Receive

First and foremost, this post may take up to ten minutes to fifteen minutes to read. I would like to encourage you to think about, ask yourself and answer the following questions either now or in your own time. The questions is, "What is your definition of return?" and "What is your definition of receive?"

This post is based on a April 2017 General Conference talk and it is called, "Return and Receive" by Elder M. Russell Ballard. I would like to share with you some highlights that stood out to me as I was reading the talk and I hope you will learn something new.

Elder Ballard mentioned, "My brothers and sisters, it is now my assignment to speak to you, and your assignment is to listen. My goal is to finish my assignment before you finish yours. I will do my best.

Over the years, I have observed that those who accomplish the most in this world are those with a vision for their lives, with goals to keep them focused on their vision and tactical plans for how to achieve them. Knowing where you are going and how you expect to get there can bring meaning, purpose, and accomplishment to life.
Some have difficulty differentiating between a goal and a plan until they learn that a goal is a destination or an end, while a plan is the route by which you get there. ..

Goal setting is essentially beginning with the end in mind. And planning is devising a way to get to that end. A key to happiness lies in understanding what destinations truly matter and then spending our time, effort, and attention on the things that constitute a sure way to arrive there.

.. Wise goal setting includes the understanding that short-term goals are only effective if they lead to clearly understood longer-term goals. I believe that one important key to happiness is to learn how to set our own goals and establish our own plans within the framework of our Heavenly Father’s eternal plan. If we focus on this eternal path, we will inevitably qualify to return to His presence.

It is good to have goals and plans for our careers, for our education, even for our golf game. It is also important to have goals for our marriages, our families, and our Church councils and callings; this is especially true for missionaries. But our greatest and most overriding goals should fit into Heavenly Father’s eternal plan. Jesus said, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.”

.. The words are return and receive.
Return and Receive.
To return to His presence and to receive the eternal blessings that come from making and keeping covenants are the most important goals we can set.

.. Because of his premortal choices, Satan can neither return nor receive. The only thing left for him is to oppose the Father’s plan by using every possible enticement and temptation to bring us down and make us miserable like unto himself. Satan’s plan to accomplish his diabolical goal applies to every individual, generation, culture, and society. He uses loud voices—voices that seek to drown out the small and still voice of the Holy Spirit that can show us “all things” we should do to return and receive.

I have found that to stay focused on returning and receiving the promised blessings, I need to regularly take time to ask myself, “How am I doing?” .. It’s kind of like having a personal, private interview with yourself. And if that sounds unusual, think about it: who in this world knows you better than you know yourself? You know your thoughts, your private actions, your desires, and your dreams, goals, and plans. And you know better than anyone how you are progressing along the road to returning and receiving.

As a guide for me during this private, personal review, I like to read and ponder the introspective words found in the fifth chapter of Alma, wherein Alma asks: “Have ye spiritually been born of God? Have ye received his image in your countenances? Have ye experienced this mighty change in your hearts?” Alma’s questions are a reminder of what our goals and plans ought to include in order to return and receive.

.. During the coming weeks, find time to review your life’s goals and your plans, and make sure they align with our Heavenly Father’s great plan for our happiness. If you need to repent and change, then consider doing so now. Take the time to prayerfully think about what adjustments are needed to help you keep your “eye single to the glory of God.”

We must keep the doctrine and gospel of Jesus Christ at the center of our goals and plans. Without Him, no eternal goal is possible, and our plans to achieve our eternal goals will surely fail.

.. Prayerfully reading “The Living Christ” is like reading the testimonies of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and the prophets of the Book of Mormon. It will increase your faith in the Savior and help you stay focused on Him as you follow your plans to reach your eternal goals.

Despite our mistakes, shortcomings, detours, and sins, Jesus Christ’s Atonement allows us to repent, prepared to return and receive the matchless blessings God has promised to live forever with the Father and the Son in the highest degree of the celestial kingdom.

Now as you all know, no one will escape death; therefore, our long-term goal and plan should be that when we return to our Heavenly Father, we will receive all that He has planned for each one of us.

I testify there is no greater goal in mortality than to live eternally with our Heavenly Parents and our beloved Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. But it is more than just our goal — it is also Their goal. They have a perfect love for us, more powerful than we can even begin to comprehend. They are totally, completely, eternally aligned with us. We are Their work. Our glory is Their glory. More than anything else, They want us to come home—to return and receive eternal happiness in Their presence.

.. Let us look deeply into our own lives, setting our own goals and focusing our plans to align with God’s in a way that will ultimately lead us toward our precious privilege to return and receive—which is my humble prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, amen."

What's life's great challenge?

First and foremost, this post may take up to five minutes to eight minutes to read. This post is based on a April 1998 General Conference talk and it is called, "Obedience - Life's Great Challenge" by Donald L. Staheli. I would like to share with you some highlights that has stood out to me while I was reading the talk and I hope you will learn something new.

Elder Staheli mentioned, "..

President Boyd K. Packer has stated on a number of occasions that “we all have the right to inspiration and direction by the Spirit of the Holy Ghost.” And then he adds, “We all live far below our privileges.” As I have pondered the implications of his statement, it becomes clear that many of us are missing some spiritual opportunities and blessings by letting “the things that should matter most in life be at the mercy of the things that matter least.”

If any one of us were asked what is most important in life, most of us would quickly respond, “Our families and the opportunities the gospel affords us to be celestial families together forever.” Yet the pressures of everyday living frequently and subtly move us away from that pursuit which we so proudly proclaim. And in the process the priorities that should really matter most to us become captive to those things that, while seemingly important at the moment, have little or no relevance to our long-term goal. And in many cases, the temptations and pressures to pursue the less-important matters lead us down the wrong paths of life.

President Spencer W. Kimball warned us, “The cares of the world are so many and so entangling, even very good people are diverted from following the truth because they care too much for the things of the world.” ..

As we grow in the gospel, we learn the value of obedience to principles which will consistently align us with the teachings of our Savior and prophets. As we are obedient to their teachings, we then begin to understand what the Savior meant when He said, “For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.”

Since we each have periodic challenges of obedience, we can take heart in President Hinckley’s encouragement “that the Lord will not give us commandments beyond our power to observe. He will not ask us to do things for which we lack … capacity.”
Obedience.

All of us, but especially you young people, would do well to remember the prophet’s counsel as you are tempted by the peer pressures of your everyday world. As we mature into young adults and beyond, setting priorities and managing pressures between work, Church, and family is a balancing act that requires continual reevaluation.

Periodically one might well ask, “If I continue to travel the road I am currently following, where will it lead me and what will happen to my family?” Are we establishing the foundation for an eternal family, or are we focusing more on the pride of personal accomplishments and a collection of temporal trophies that are taking precedence over the things that should really matter most?

Regardless of our age and stage in life, daily obedience to gospel principles is the only sure way to eternal happiness. President Ezra Taft Benson put it most poignantly when he said, “When obedience ceases to be an irritant and becomes our quest, in that moment God will endow us with power.”

.. The scriptures make it clear the Lord recognizes that many of us tend to stray from His counsel when all is going well with us, yet when trouble comes we seek after Him and His blessings. He has also warned us about the consequences of our straying: “And my people must needs be chastened until they learn obedience, if it must needs be, by the things which they suffer.”

Whether we are being chastened or challenged as we are being tossed to and fro on the seas of life, obedience to the teachings of our Savior and prophets will qualify us for King Benjamin’s great promise to those that keep God’s commandments: “For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness.”

.. As we are obedient to His call, it is my testimony that we will enjoy His love and His peace in our lives."

Never, Never, Never Give Up!

First and foremost, this post may take ten minutes to fifteen minutes to read. This post is based on a April 2010 General Conference talk and it is called, "Never, Never, Never Give Up!" by Mary N. CookI would like to share with you some highlights of what I have liked throughout this talk and I hope you will learn something new.

Sister Cook mentioned, ".. Have you ever been afraid and discouraged as you’ve faced a challenge that seemed far beyond your ability? Have you ever wanted to give up?"

.. The scriptures are full of accounts of men and women who showed great courage to do whatever the Lord commanded, even when the tasks seemed impossible, even when they may have wanted to give up. What does the Lord want you to do?

He wants you to be a valiant and virtuous daughter of God, dedicated to living each day so that you can be worthy to receive the blessings of the temple and return to Him. In today’s world that will take courage.

You have the plan of salvation, which makes it possible to do this. Moral agency, the ability to choose, is an essential part of this plan. You’ve already made some good choices. Before you were born, you made the choice to come to earth to receive a body and to prove yourself. You’ve made the choice to be baptized, which is the first ordinance required on the path to eternal life. You are now experiencing mortal life, where you continue to make choices, to learn, and to grow. Making sacred covenants and receiving the ordinances of the temple is another important step in the plan.

As you are growing older, young women, the path is becoming steeper, and you may want to give up. Life is more challenging, filled with decisions and temptations at every turn. Satan will blow winds of confusion that may cause you to question if this is the path you want to take. You may be tempted to try another route, even when signs of danger are posted. You may doubt your abilities, and you may wonder as one young woman did, “Is it really possible to remain virtuous in today’s world?” The answer, my young friends, is “Yes!” And my counsel to you is similar to that given by Winston Churchill during World War II: never, never, never give up! (see “Never Give In” [speech, Harrow School, London, England, Oct. 29, 1941]).

This will take great courage, but you have His plan! What will help you follow the plan and be a valiant and virtuous daughter of God? First, gain a strong testimony, step by step. Second, seek the help of Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, your family, and others who will support you in your decision to follow the plan. And finally, live to be worthy of the companionship of the Holy Ghost.

.. Your testimony is strengthened “gradually through your experiences. No one receives a complete testimony all at once” (True to the Faith: A Gospel Reference [2004], 179). You’ll recall that in order to climb the steepest part of the mountain, we approached it one step at a time. To gain a testimony, you must nourish it step by step.
"Never, Never, Never Give Up."
We each need the help of the Savior to follow the plan and return to our Father in Heaven. Perhaps you have made some mistakes or started down another path. “Because the Savior loves you and has given His life for you, you can repent. … The Savior’s atoning sacrifice has made it possible for you to be forgiven of your sins” (Young Women Personal Progress [booklet, 2009], 71). “The sooner you repent, the sooner you will find the blessings that come from forgiveness” (For the Strength of Youth [pamphlet, 2001], 30).

Determine now to do what is required to repent. “Partake worthily of the sacrament each week and fill your life with virtuous activities that will bring spiritual power. As you do this, you will grow stronger in your ability to resist temptation, keep the commandments, and become more like Jesus Christ” (Young Women Personal Progress, 71).

Latter-day prophets are on the earth to help you as well. Prophets speak for today. Be riveted on their words. They will give you the signposts that will warn you of danger and keep you safely on the path. The signposts specific to you are found in For the Strength of Youth.“Follow the prophet; he knows the way” (Children’s Songbook, “Follow the Prophet,” 110–11).

One of the great blessings of the plan is that we are organized into families. You have parents whose greater wisdom and experience will help you reach your divine potential. Trust them. They want the best for you.

Learn from your mother, your grandmother, and other righteous women with strong testimonies. The role of a mother in the plan is to be a nurturer. Mothers, no one loves your daughter as you do. You are her best leader, mentor, and example. We hope you will accept the invitation to work on Personal Progress with your daughter. As I learned from working on the virtue value with my mother, your relationship will be strengthened and you both will be blessed by your mutual love, support, and encouragement.

Young women, choose good friends who will support you in your righteous decision to follow the plan. .. Finally, live to be worthy of the companionship of the Holy Ghost. You will need that peace and assurance when Satan tries to confuse you with winds of doubt, when you are tempted to take another path, or when others are unkind or mock you for your beliefs.

.. My dear young women, I have met many of you who, just like Julie, have not given up when faced with difficult circumstances but have chosen to follow the plan. I pray that step by step you will continue to strengthen your testimony. Seek the help of our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, prophets, and others who will support you in your decision to follow the plan. Live a virtuous life so that you may have the companionship of the Holy Ghost to safely guide you. I testify that if you will do these things, the Lord will be with you and you will be able to stay on the path that leads to the temple and to eternal life. “Be strong and of a good courage” (Joshua 1:9) and never, never, never give up! In the name of Jesus Christ, amen."

I strongly encourage you to read the whole talk in your own time. Here is the link below.

Happy New Year 2019

FIrst and foremost, I would like to wish you a Happy New Year and I hoped your New Year's Eve was great. Are you serious it's Year 2019 already?

I must admit that I enjoyed working on New Year's Eve because I was too focused on working than to realised that the next day would mark day 1 of the New Year.
This post is short and sweet. I would like to encourage you to think about, ask yourself and answer the following three questions either now or in your own time.

What are some lessons that you have learned during last year to act upon during this year?
What are some things that you are looking forward to accomplish this year?
